Does disarming works with daemon magic attacks such as BD and Hellsphere??

Hello velrose and welcome to our forum! :)

Disarming only works with melee attacks. I was hoping it was otherwise, would have been fun using BD, Hellsphere or even Poison Ring and disarming at the same time.

OK, this isn't quite fair. BM gets whirlwind, a spell that is supposed to disarm. Why cant other spells use the disarm skill? :(

Have you used disarm? I tried it on a BM and when hunting around Braverock I got 41 of those hooked swords...period. Nothing else dropped. Finally dumped that BM as he only found one good item by level 35.

I think as a whole the disarming skill is worthless.

1) you have to continually pump it's lvl as your toon lvl increases or the chance of disarming decreases.

2) I got disarming up to 65-70% on a glad and everything I found was useless to him

3) the only main benefit to disarming is to get the 'X-Mas" set. Seen the weapon from it, and it's nothing that great. ( the only way to get this set is with disarming)

4) Since most baddies will die from 1-2 hits, there's not alot of chances for disarming to work.

5) best bet is if you really want something like the whips/light sabers, get an npc and equip him with a weapon that has the disarming mod on it.

Tried disarming several times and never have gotten anything really useful in return. I would suggest picking another skill.

I've only tried it with a daemon's magic, no other characters. I think Omi mentioned something about a BM's whirlwind disarming, though not exactly sure about the specifics.

In plus disarming was used by many to get weapons you can get no other way. But none of them were anything to write home about. The BM does disarm with ww, but as was stated, nothing of much value is gained. I personally used ww in early levels just to help stay alive. Never chose the skill itself in UW because of my experiences in plus. Also, in Plus, I learned the hard way, that the orcs in the desert will disarm you if you have chosen the skill. Their chance is equal to yours. Very sad to be fighting with a unique staff and boom, it's fists and the weapon is gone. If you are disarmed you have a slight chance of regaining the item but you must not kill the creature til you get it back. Don't know anyone who wants to be patient enough for that! lol

I guess that does make sense, if not cast a lvl1 rotaing blades of light and all the enemies that comes near gets disarmed.

I have been using disarm with my boxer glad, its cyrrently about 160ish skill points in it - but i only get 2-4% chance to disarm at lvl 138. Now it would seem worthless but I have found a use for it other than getting the xmas set. I have it on a boxer who uses attack as a primary CA and he gets in 4 or so whacks in about .2 seconds - and because the dmg is low you get lots of hits in b4 u kill the target so chance of disarming is higher. Now I agree most of the weapons that I have found are not all that impressive (some have nice damages on them but no sockets and few bonuses) but for a boxer who isnt a fast killer, disarm is nice becasue often after a creature is diarmed it just stands there and looks at you so you can either concentrate on another target or just take your time and finish him off. It helps to remove the threat, plus i just think its fun to disarm :) I just like to see the weapon fly in the air and then i just laugh at the bad guy while I pummel him :)

But I agree for the most part it is a skill that has little value - but i think works best on a boxer, and I really want to find more part to that XMAS set! Anyone ever find any other piece other than the weapon? I found 2 of them off of skull rippers in embalmed forest - not sure if the pieces only fall off certain creatures or just random creature...
