Troublesome news about me, seems someone else registered at the main forums as Drakkon, didn't think that would happen, as I added myself an extra k just to avoid such situations, now if you see him there it's NOT me. I don't know if I should reveal my DA allegiance as with my names defferent here and there it would be a bit confusing to anyone checking if I'm really in the roster and I could be actually taken for an imposter.

It seems this situation wont go away and I find myself once again posting on the subject.

It would appear that WNx are still going after [RUS] and continuing the war.

DA will remain neutral. We will help members of WNx who find themselves in difficulty but only to the extent of offering a safe teleport area.

If you have encountered problems with [RUS] you are to follow the published rules both here and at the Sacred main page. Unfortunately if you dont have a screenshot there is little we can do. At all times you are expected to uphold the honor of the Clan and abide by the rules. The Administrators and Moderators will take action against any member found breaking the Clan rules.

The best advice is to play the game as normal. If you feel uncomfortable with [RUS] ignore them, dont give out your location in game and do not party with them.

Please refrain from posting on the main Sacred forums any claims of bad behaviour. Instead contact a Mod or Admin here.

Any member earning a penalty point for the Clan at the main forums will find themselves answering to the Administrators here and possibly being expelled from DA.

Please remember that DA was formed as a group of friends who wanted to play Sacred together for fun. We are not a military type guild and do not want to be drawn down that route.

In light of the problems using the more popular experience places I went around the map this weekend trying to find the best places for experience I could. Hopefully this will stop the need for us to be dependant on the GC and OC etc and help avoid unpleasent encounters when someone is already in them.

So if you have a good place to level post it here! Oh by the way please dont go and post these in the main forum......you never know who may be reading and decide to come looking for you also if we keep it to ourselves there is less chance of others being in them already.

Faeries Crossing Cave - turn west just before the bridge over the river to go undead bashing.

Mascarell - head out as if going to the ice elves area but instead of heading up the trail turn southwest to find a cave filled with zombies, skellies and ghouls. (be careful as this cave has a habit of getting a bit laggy when you repeatedly enter after clearing it and also tends to spawn massive amount of ghouls)

Gloomor - above the dragon by the entrance to the Forest God area head directly north to find a cave. (see above as the same applies here) in Niobium I was getting 2 or 3 exp globes filled per run through this and the cave listed above. When it spawned only ghouls - and there must have been nearly 50 - I got half a lvl. This was whilst I was at lvl 151.

in the Valley - head as far East as you can go, staying north of the river. There is a cave on the Eastern edge of the map that is full of skellies and mages. Safer than the previous two as it doesnt lag after repeated use.

Fields of Urkurk - from the portal head directly west and you'll find a small cave filled with Wyvren. on a good day in Plat these guys give 70k exp each.

I placed a simular topic at the official Ascaron Forum a while ago.

The Fields of Urkuk / Wyvern Pass desert was mentioned at that one too. The other caves you just mentioned weren't.

Places I had good experience were the Orc area north of Timberton, the Ice-Giant cave between the Seraphim Monastery and the Wind Element, the cave connecting Wyvern Pass and the Khorad Nur desert, the Ice Elf region and of course the Shadar Nur desert.

Another good one is the Antidote quest at Faerie Crossing if you go back in before finishing quest it regenerates and can be done other and other again. A good one for low levels characters

Brave rock, come from the island portal out of Braverock, follow the path to the left and SHORTLY begin to look to the north of the path. There is a cave, it is the cave for the Minitour Gladiator quest, in and out there are about 5 Shaddur Raptors in there at least and a bunch of mages, low levels can gain many levels in there.

I don't trust the Faeries Crossing cave while in a party any more :( - the lag and spawns killed Gogo :mad: when he tp'd in while I was clearing it once, and TeR almosty died that way too once.

yeah the lag can be bad in those caves....try the undead cave in the Valley - far to the east. It never has those lag problems. Plus its layout is ideal for a vamp with MH :)

Another one worth checkin out is just below the town of tristram (where all the citizen tranform into boss undead). After you've killed em all off, cross back over the bridge and follow the river south east a short way till you find a ford. Cross back over and you'll find another mixed undead cave. Not as good as some but well worth hanging out in for a while if you've made the trip to Tristram anyway.

While you're at Tristram there are a couple of high exp. quests you can do too. Spent a lot of time there. Also, my favorite will always be Valley of ZN. Been all over the map and this is the highest exp/qty I've found.

that's the zombie village
when you got out of the mystdale portal, go north abit untill you can leave the path, go north east untill you encounter a second bridge, then go east (not over the bridge, but that's west anyway :p ) you'll find a little village with a smith, shop etc
go north and when you get out of the village, follow the stream north untill you reach a wooden bridge, cross it and you'll see a little village with some people, go to the center of the village and the people will turn into zombies (if not, it's bugged)

also if you're done here there should be a big spider when you go back across the bridge, and if you go north east, there is a cave with a big spider in it wich is actually a quest and when you follow the arrow down south you have a good chance to encounter a few more big spiders on your way to complete the quest :D

Hey all,

Last night I was playing on the public bronze server not partied with anyone. And I decided to go get the Jason mask and machete. So i teled to the Gloom from Island and just started to run around. got the mask and then said i hadn't really explored the gloom area all that well so started to run around. I did find my way up to Tristram. I only played for about 2 hours last night but during this time running aorund gloom I went up 4 lvl's and the Drops were crazy. I didn't have any enlightend irons either. I got 5 set pieces 3 Glad 1 BM, and one VAMP. Runes were dropping everywhere as well. I also was getting tons of blue,yellow and brown items.

I think i might give it aother go tonight. Don't know if it was just a lucky night for me But that is where I will be hunting for the next little while. Maybe get some more set items and uniques.

Also if you play singleplayer you can meet an ogre named Glubba in Shadar Nur, if you accept his quest he wil practically guide you to the bridge to Tristram.

Nice places to level: rimfort (that's my name for the place in the Zhurag Nar valley, as the valley itself is quite big, it's a ruin usually surrounded with mounted Shaddar'Rims and often normal ones to the south of it too, it only takes as much as to pass the place where the cliff makes two/three turns to the west to respawn the mounties), and the desert around the ruins of Urkuk - quite some Rims hanging out there too + bands of undead. The bad part of it is that neither of those is a cave and vamps will have a bit harder time there at day.

If we have discovered a gold mine (great drops in a small area)...we'd better not post on the offical forum about it.

I think Mjollnir's post about "Don't bother with Agility or Parry" use "Adrenaline" instead--showing the Math progression at the top end: Agility ~350% def increase, and Adrenaline ~10500% def increase lead to the DE nerf.

The playtesters just can't cover everybase...



NOTE: Jonny suspects that our clan server drops better drops due to a setting detecting type of game. So perhaps you ran into that...or just plain had a good day!

Basement of manor house in Silver Creek has ghosts.
If you're fire-based, you can clean it out and respawn, and respawn.

The dungeon under Braverock castle has two levels and respawns with skellies, mages,ghosts and ghouls. A very nice place for a vamp to level and handy for shopping.

My favorite place is the frost giant cave.

they have low resists to poison and have good exp.
If you have any type of crowd control spell/trap/tech or melee ca, it will work great here. The corridors are narrow and the frost giants don't seem to try and surround you.

Also the cave will reset from both the north( 1 exit) and south(3 exits close together-all come out in same spot).

directions are easy.
from Monastery WP head south. Then the path will bend to the west, follow a short distance and you'll see a cave. Once in cave, the main path makes a short turn to the south then continues west for a bit. Follow this until the main corridor turns south again. There are three exits to the south. Go to the northwest most corner. There will be a hole in the wall. Once thru the hole, you are now in the frost giant cave. Continuing north will bring you to another exit, which I usually use to reset cave.

I know some peeps don't like this cave, because the frosties can pack a good punch. But my Poison Mist DE had a lot of leech and never had any probs in here.

Oh yeah....for some reason they seem prone to splitting if you got the mod.

This place is terrific for a vamp - it counts as underground/night and once you get yourself properly set up they are mostly harmless.

Got a new favorite place now. It's an enclosed area in the Valley of Tears that's just loaded with Sakarra's...All I do is throw a few PM's near entrance and go rustle them all up. Follow me back, drop a mentor and gain 1 level eveytime. Went from lvl 75 to lvl 100 in about 3-4 hours.

Nest bug: happened to me.

I joined a party when someone else invited me...even after I asked if anyone was in vot, and had the green signal to go...

and discovered the 0 xp bug for myself. It takes a while to notice with all the damages I was swiftly inflicting...but the xp meter not moving a bubble after a full next-clear was my first clue things were very very wrong...

So, with a daemon, you can't accept a party invitation.

Where was your char, what char was it, did you initiate the party?, or merely join, and if you did, how many were in the party....etc... there are a million details (well, a few) that could be gathered together to nail down the conditions that differentiate between a great party and a 0 experience party for the sakarra nest person.

Also, it could be (and most likely will be) level triggered. If they are using integers to repersent experience in the calculations, they could run into integer overflow--turning a number from a very high positive number to a very large negative number...or turning the number into "NaN" (Microsoft for Not a Number). NaN will evaulate to 0 in formula..or ERR...which also gives you 0.

So, my guess is, the higher the level, the more likely the ceiling for xp sharing will be reached!

I'm afraid it's not just demon related. My we gets 0 xp when partied too, even if the other party member isn't in UW. Also the bug ususally doesn't happen in the lower levels, but always in Plat and Niob so far. No Sakkaras will give xp, anywhere in the vot. :(

This bug seems to happen whenever you kill monsters that gives lots of XP. I have noticed this problem with Dragons, Sakkaras, Giant Spiders and Mounted Shaddars.

Could be exp going over the capacity of the data field to hold it and being represented as zero - though this wouldn't hold up if it was happening at lower difficulty levels with corresponding lower exp gains. More likely it is a party related bug, interacting with other code.

Well to me it seems that it might actually be that problem. I have noticed this problem for the following circumstances.

Dragons Silver and higher

Sakkara Gold while using mentor, Plat and Niob

Spiders Gold and higher

Mounted Shaddar Niob with more than 3 players on server.

I have never had this problem for example in silver while it works fine in higher diff.

And the amount of XP you get for these baddies is highest for Dragons, followed by Spiders, Sakkara and lowest for mounted Shaddars

I started in Clan DA playing Sacred...and before I could get right into it with everyone(due to the lack of character power...I only ever played with Omi and Ter with their new characters, who actually gave me the nominations I needed) I was playing Guild Wars.
Its a great game, but im getting a little bored with playing the one game all the time, so I decided its time to see what the big fuss over UW is all about!
I look forward to getting in there and mixing it up with you guys.

Your mate might have just copied the lines sepereately. You can copy the first line and paste it normally into your sig and then copy the URL address and click on teh LINKS box and fill in the appropriate feilds (URL and URL text that is shown- order varies).

That is the other way to do it but SirQ's method does seem easier. :)

Ah the secret code...
IIRC colors are /FF****** where the stars are the hex code for the color you want. You can also change the "FF" to make the color more or less opaque as this is the transparency value. Don't know if they changed that with UW or not.

If done correctly the code will disappear and the color will appear with the characters you type after the code.

This is what I use for all my character names - it gives red brackets, olive DA, yellow name.

So far I love my dwarf and MP is a lot more fun and faster paced. HC takes some getting used to though, came close to losing stumpy twice and he is only level 13. :D

We've currently got 3 Clan servers in Underworld. Bronze, Gold and Niob.

To me is doesnt look like the servers are being used a great deal by members. The bronze one occasionally gets 3 or 4 people, gold is rarely used and Niob is very rarely used.

I think some of this is because the public servers are not being used, or if they are full its because we've invaded them!

So the question is do we really need 3 Clan servers? Yes they are nice to have but lets not forget that they cost money - that we could spend elsewhere. With that in mind I would ask you all to vote and let us know your thoughts.

This will be a simple majority decision. If you want to keep all 3 fine. If not we'll loose one or more of them.

I would love to be able to use the clan-servers more because I love to play with other DA members and I don't have TS (because of bandwidth issues) so that's where I always go first to play to try and find some members to play with. But being that I can't create games - I rarely see anyone in them so I am forced to join public servers. If I had a 2.2 connection (like some people who need a good spankin') then I would be on them all the time, but as it is, I think we prob don't need all 3. I can hardly ever find a Niob game - or even plat for that matter to get into anymore...

I like having the clan servers for

1) Getting things like the Prototype Quest Chain done. Less people in the game leads to more liklihood of success. (less chance of a crash). Thain's axe. True Warrior Quest.

The main servers are better to play in if you want to level, because more people are in them.

The former "Red skulls" playerkillers (from the spring of 2005) lead me to want to stay out of the main games. However, no player killing (griefing) is occurring right now.

The other issue is that interest in the game is waning for some. People are moving on to DS2, ogame, and others. I probably won't be moving on for a few years. :) I was still play D2X when Sacred came out...and I expect I'll still be playing Sacred until another similar game comes out.

At some point, the clan will move on.

So, for now, I'd like for the server to keep existing. :)

Yeah i agree, the interst is coming down so not many people play, but i guess bronze should be enough to get up to silver stage. And then jump into plat or niob since there arent alot of people in there anyways. Maybe two should be enouhg one bronze and another niob so we can all gather for niob lvling ?

I think they're good for our events. Gold maybe isn't needed; gold servers are usually so dead anyway that you might as well go into the normal ones. But since we have Bronze and Niob events fairly regularly, they'd be good to keep. Save taking up private ones.

Our servers are the first place I go, but they're rarely being used. I voted no to 3, I think the bronze is enough for now.

I am a 50/50 user. When I have the CTD bug or am not feeling like being in public I seek refuge in the Clan servers. Bronze is a must to stay, but the others are hit and miss. The intrest in the game is dwindling and most people who are still around are leaning to hang with DA in the public servers, the other clans seem to be not hanging out as much.

It is possible to change your name there, you'd just have to PM a Site Admin there with a request. Seing as it's different there I wouldn't worry about it unless you really want to.

Well Link and Nukem we have found that the greater majority of players have been staing in Bronze untill the lat 50's, so the free silver servers are the best. Mainly because there are more players in them. Gold and plat we can use for clan events and doing solo things where you don't want to be disturbed. Any way the decision has been made, sorry.

I think we should talk about which toon we will be bringing to the PvP vs PxK.

Myself, I tend to like magic chars. A WE or a Sera or Mage would suit me just fine. If you will post your preference, I will keep a list here to try and help Romayne out a bit. She seems to be doing all the work these days and isn't getting much help from us (me included). Comon folks, lets pick up the pace a bit here. I will base my choice on what is not taken. Please include whether is ranged, magic or melee plz. Lets get a good balance here.

And lets see some of you folks that haven't played Sacred much lately. Boss, Jon, and some of you others. Sound good? This can be, kind of a reunion of sorts :).

I was going to lvl a deamon to 20 for our PvP and will keep lvling that to 40 for this after. Magic it will be.
We should try and have a balanced team (sounds like in gw...), with a couple of "ranged" and a couple of close up fighters. Once Faith n' I work out some sort of strategý, we can plan some more...

I know several of us have been in game with Darck. I guess he is from Italy or something like that.

Anyway, I really do think he needs an intervention. Today I was in there for a short time with my lvl 58 Sera and he invites me to party with his lvl 1 something or another. I didn't notice the invite at first (was busy making sure I lived in VOT while talking on the phone :rolleyes: ) and then he private messeages me asking to party with him and take him to the Sakkara caves to help him get some exp! :eek:

I had to go. The in-laws were almost to the house and I had some cleaning to do still and I told him as much but he has done this before.....asked to party when I was WAY higher than he was to get some exp. More than likely he would have gotten less exp. than I would have gotten if I was running around Bellvue in Bronze!

For all the clan members, if he does this to anyone else besides me, maybe we should start telling him that and maybe if he hears/reads it enough, it will start to sink in and he will party with his own level.

I have spoken with Darck a few times in the game and he has done that to me too. Not only that, when he wasnt in the same area as me getting exp he would jump to me and loot everything that I had just got on a drop.

As for his nationality, youre right. He is Italian, I have spoken to him and tried to explain a few things. Guess it didnt work though because he is still doing it.

I have spoken with him as well. Yesterday, I was in silver he asked to party - didn't know he was a lvl 20. The party was nearly everyone on the server and he was jumping between them all gain xp not doing anything. While on the zombie island i was taking care of business nearly dying and he was picking up treasure. He picked up some runes and told him to give them back - didn't think he heard me, but about 3 minutes later he dropped a couple of different runes.

I agree Keebs, everytime he asks he needs to be told. Maybe, just maybe, it will sink in.

I remember he partied with us (who else?..maybe Lord Sean and Tnt-er). He was the same level, but, anyway, he grabbed all stuff and runes VERY quickly, so few times I even wasn't able to read what the thing is!:eek: He was kicked from party quickly,too:)

Also I remember he tried to party with higher level chars (not only me). I told him all stuff, he got it for while I was being on server, but later he continued doing that.

i play longer then today and seen them both showing up each server (they still do ) asking for setitems,if they dont get stuff(cause noone has something )they show up laters,maybe 15 to 30 min later.some players even trying to teach them to say hi first before asking for stuff,you can ask johnkc.

Whether they be noobs, which at this point I don't think they are anymore - at least not Darck - the first thing is to communicate.

I've tried with Darck myself but got no where since he only understands english when he wants. If communication doesn't work, put him/her on the bad player list so everyone knows.

Players like these don't seem to get the big picture yet so it's best to ignore them completely.

Well I would use the clan servers more if they were not always empty when I check them. I think that is the main problem. Noone wants to play MP alone and when they see the clan servers are empty they go to the normal ones instead of staying there to see if someone else comes along.

When I left Bronze last night I was going to see what the limit for Gold was and since there wasn't a gold server at all, I played a couple of minutes in the Gold clan server.

I use them sometimes for when I am starting a new toon and need the privacy to get the lower runes and exp.

So...u see what people are usual there (of course, there is a couple of very nice ppl). I thought about joining them, but I disliked organization level...

Right or wrong... (well WRONG!) anything dropped on the isle is fair game.

To be fair, one should allow others access...

However, when you're the last one left on the isle, you should pick everything up..and sell it if you don't want it. Else, it just disappears.

(I personally won't sell anything really good...or a low level set item...I'll hold on to it. To give to my own toons--or, more likely, someone else's).

oh--I asked what EOD stands for, and was told by one of the EOD it is something like "E-something of Death". Like extermities of death... initimating that they are working for death.
